1. Russell Hammond McDonald (AFN: 2BK2-QK), the son of Edward "Edgar" H. and Margaret Ewing McDonald, was born September 4, 1893 in Cooper County, Missouri. On September 20, 1913, Russell married Eddith Lee Smith (or Lee Eddith Smith), daughter of Lewis Gardner and Olive Jeanette Stoner Smith, in Muleshoe, Bailey, Texas. Russell and Eddith had at least four children: Russell Glen, Verne Houston, Olive Ruth, and Paul McDonald. They were later divorced and both later remarried. Russell died October 12, 1967 in Houston, Harris, Texas. He was buried in Forest Park Cemetery, West Houston, Harris, Texas.

2. Eddith Lee Smith (or Lee Eddith Smith) (AFN: 2BK2-RQ), the daughter of Lewis Gardner and Olive Jeanette Stoner Smith, was born November 1, 1894 in Spickard, Grundy, Missouri. After her divorce from Russell McDonald, she married Orne Everett Ridgeway (AFN: BPR9-SJ). Eddith's youngest son lived with her and Everett and the other children lived with their father, Russell, and his second wife. Eddith died October 25, 1952. It was said that she was cremated and that her ashes were eventually buried with her son, Russell Glen McDonald, when he passed away several years later. Russell Glen and Eddith are buried in Great Falls, Montana.

3. Edward "Edgar" H. McDonald (AFN: BPR9-RC), the father of Russell Hammond McDonald, was born about 1867 in Cooper County (?), Missouri. His wife was Margaret S. Ewing. This is about all that we know about these two.

4. Lewis Gardner Smith (AFN: 2BK2-T3), the father of Eddith Lee Smith (or Lee Eddith Smith), was born December 4, 1867 in Modena, Mercer, Missouri. Lewis was the son of William and Martha Ann Gardner Smith. On February 11, 18??, Lewis married Olive Jeanette Stoner, daughter of Augustus (or Augustin) Washington and Martha Elizabeth Jane Trainer Stoner, at a farm near Ridgeway, Harrison, Missouri. 5. Olive Jeanette Stoner (AFN: 2BK2-V8), daughter of Augustus (or Augustin) Washington and Martha Elizabeth Jane Trainer Stoner, was born October 12, 1869 in Cainsville, Harrison, Missouri. 6. William "Peach Orchard" Smith (AFN: BPR9-TP) (son of Joseph and Elizabeth Hunt Smith )was born 14 May 1840 in Green Castle, Putnam, Indiana. He married Martha Ann Gardner on July 26, 1863 in Putnam County, Indiana, and he died November 10, 1919. 7. Martha Ann Gardner (AFN: XZBK-9V and BPR9-VV) (parents unknown) was born in 1845 in either Green Castle, Putnam, Indiana, or Castle Green, Jasper, Iowa. Martha died January 19, 1896 at her home near Modena, Mercer, Missouri. Martha's obituary (courtesy of Mary Paul Smith Jespersen).

8. Augustus (or Augustin) Washington Stoner (AFN: BPR9-X7) was born in 1843. We do not know anything else about him, except that he married Martha Elizabeth Jane Trainer and had a daughter named Olive Jeanette Stoner (who was born was born October 12, 1869 in Cainsville, Harrison, Missouri).

9. Martha Elizabeth Jane Trainer (AFN: BPR9-ZD) was born in 1847. We do not know anything else about her, except that she married Augustus (or Augustin) Washington Stoner and had a daughter named Olive Jeanette Stoner (who was born was born October 12, 1869 in Cainsville, Harrison, Missouri).

12. Daniel Smith Brother of William Smith (number 11 above), and son of Henry Smith (number 14 below). Daniel lived from 1748-1818. He was born in Virginia, but settled in Tennessee. He served as a colonel during the American Revolution, and was later a U.S. Senator from Tennessee. There are at least four short biographies of Daniel on the Internet. (Biography 1; Biography 2; Biography 3; Biography 4) There is also a copy of a treaty between the United States government and the Cherokee Indians that Daniel had a part in. Another web site is dedicated to Daniel Smith's home and estate, Rock Castle. Many of these web pages were referred to us by Mary Paul Smith Jespersen.
