Alta Christine Olson Sedgwick

Alta Christine Olson Sedgwick, 83, passed away Friday, December 19, 1997, in Logan, Utah, at the Sunshine Terrace. She was born in Logan, Utah, November 28, 1914, a daughter of John and Ellen Olson. She married Philo Dibble Sedgwick, December 22, 1937, in the Logan LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS Church working in the Primary and Relief Society. She also assisted at the Logan LDS Temple, working there with her husband, Philo. She was a fine seamstress and a wonderful cook. She loved doing things for her husband and family and dearly loved children. She has lived in Logan all her life except for three years in Boise, Idaho during the Second World War. After the War she and her family moved back to Logan.

She is survived by her husband, Philo Sedgwick; four children and their spouses, Dean John (Susan) Sedgwick, Layton, Utah; Keith Howard (Marilyn) Sedgwick, Logan, Utah; Connie (Kent) Kasting, Bozeman, Montana; Janice (Ralph) Couch, Logan, Utah; ten grandchildren, Scott Sedgwick; Megan Sedgwick; Jared Sedgwick; Tyler Sedgwick; Emily Sedgwick; Nathan Couch; Adam Couch; Sara Couch; Maren Couch; and Jackson Couch.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Melvin, and one sister, Bernice, and two grandchildren, Matthew John Sedgwick and Erin Christine Couch.

Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, December 23, at the Alen-Hall Mortuary Chapel with Bishop David Nelson of the Logan 15th Ward conducting. Viewing times are from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 22, and one hour before the funeral services. Burial will be at the Logan Cemetery.

The family expresses sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and employees of Wing One at the Sunshine Terrace for their kindness and understanding shown to Alta during the last year.
